On Oct. 20, 2026, SpaceX said third-quarter 2026 revenue reached $14.58 billion, up 161 percent from $5.6 billion in the prior-year quarter.

The company posted GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) net income of $4.4 billion for the quarter, its first solidly profitable period since closing its initial public offering in June 2026, compared with a net loss of $1.1 billion in the same period a year earlier.

SpaceX completed its initial public offering in June 2026, pricing shares at $135 under the SPCX ticker symbol and raising roughly $85.7 billion. TeslaNorth has called the offering the biggest in history, while Yahoo Finance put the offering at $75 billion and described a debut valuation of nearly $1.8 trillion.

Adjusted earnings per share came to approximately $0.35, above analyst expectations of roughly $0.13 to $0.16, Teslarati reported, and revenue beat consensus estimates in the $12.7 to $12.9 billion range. Teslarati cited the CFO in tying the operating leverage to launch leadership, recurring Starlink revenue and the SI expansion.

Adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) reached $8.8 billion, up 306 percent from a year earlier, TeslaNorth said, and income from operations was $2.8 billion. SpaceX ended the quarter with roughly $90 billion in cash and marketable securities.

The Super Intelligence segment produced $7.56 billion in third-quarter revenue, an 830 percent increase from a year earlier, making it the company’s largest segment for the first time. TeslaNorth put the figure at $7.6 billion and said it climbed 195 percent from the second quarter.

Teslarati linked the growth to cloud services agreements, the Cursor acquisition and rising use of Grok models and the Grok Bot personal agent, while SI adjusted EBITDA reached $5 billion in the quarter.

SpaceX bought Cursor on Aug. 14 for an implied equity value of $60 billion, and the unit contributed $608 million in revenue through September. TeslaNorth said SpaceX has rebranded its AI arm as SpaceXSI since the IPO.

Nameplate compute capacity (the maximum power a data center is designed to support) reached 1.7 gigawatts at quarter’s end, up from 1.4 gigawatts in June and 0.6 gigawatts a year earlier, with TeslaNorth reporting the figure as of Sept. 30, 2026. Teslarati tied the expansion to continued buildout of the Colossus facilities.

The company spent $19.6 billion on capital expenditures in the third quarter, directing most of the money to AI infrastructure and continued expansion of the Colossus facilities. TeslaNorth said $16.4 billion went to the SI business for Colossus II, lifting first-nine-month capex to $48.1 billion. Over the first nine months of 2026, revenue totaled $27.1 billion, almost double the $13.7 billion from the same period in 2025.

Elon Musk said on an Aug. 5, 2026 conference call with analysts that SpaceX now expects to generate $1 trillion in annual revenue by 2030, one year ahead of the previous forecast. The company’s AI division generated $2.56 billion in revenue in the second quarter of 2026 and invested $15.8 billion, mainly in expanding data centers. Musk called Grok Bot the “fastest-growing product I’ve ever seen” on the Oct. 20, 2026 earnings call.

Starlink’s connectivity segment brought in $5.25 billion during the third quarter, a 69 percent increase from a year earlier and a 22 percent sequential rise. TeslaNorth reported consumer revenue up 57 percent to $3.1 billion and enterprise and government revenue up 91 percent to $2.1 billion, while Teslarati linked the result to airline adoption over the past year.

Connectivity posted operating income of $2.37 billion for the segment, a 99 percent increase from a year earlier, with segment adjusted EBITDA of $3.5 billion, up 82 percent; TeslaNorth described it as SpaceX’s biggest earner by operating income. Starlink consumer subscribers reached 13.6 million, up 89 percent from a year earlier with a sequential gain of 1.6 million.

Starlink served 174 countries and operated 11,100 satellites in orbit as of Sept. 30, 2026, including units approved for de-orbit, and more than 3,800 aircraft now carry the service. During the second quarter of 2026, Starlink revenue rose by almost two thirds year-on-year to about $4.3 billion, while operating profit climbed 80 percent to roughly $1.66 billion, and customers increased from 10.3 million to 12 million over three months. Yahoo Finance has called Starlink SpaceX’s primary revenue source and pointed to a rising number of airline customers.

New satellites are part of SpaceX’s plan to link smartphones directly to Starlink, putting the company against telecom providers. Gwynne Shotwell said she was confident Starlink could win customers from major mobile operators using more powerful satellites to improve coverage where mobile internet access is lacking.

SpaceX agreed to buy 800 MHz spectrum licenses for Starlink Mobile on October 8, with closing expected in the first half of 2027. Terafab, a chip plant in Grimes County, Texas, is being built by SpaceX and Tesla, and Musk said the facility will out-produce most countries in a single building. Starbase, Louisiana, is a spaceport announced by SpaceX for thousands of annual Starship flights, with a first launch targeted for 2029.

SpaceX completed 12 customer launches during the third quarter of 2026, including NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope mission. Flight 14, the first revenue-generating Starship mission, deployed 26 V3 Starlink satellites and added roughly 10 times the downlink capacity of a typical Falcon 9 Starlink launch.

During the quarter SpaceX signed three more NASA crew missions to the International Space Station, 18 National Security Space Launch missions, three commercial Starfall missions and a lunar Starship delivery contract. Yahoo Finance reported on Aug. 5, 2026 that shares had topped just over $225 after the IPO but later traded below the issue price at about $125, down more than 7 percent in after-hours trading, and said the lock-up ends Thursday, when shares held by insiders and early investors could enter the market.
